September 5th — I’m feeling better today. Not great, but better. This post is really a test to see if my registered users are receiving email notification. I guess it would be silly of me to ask you to let me know if you don’t receive this! Mom and Dad, you know who you are…testing, testing…

Amy,
Hi! I got your e-mail so it must be working. I’m so glad you’re feeling a bit better today and I hope you feel progressively better as the week rolls out. You are in our hearts and prayers.
Much love,
Bette
Hi there –
Checking in and thought I’d drop you a line. I’ve been far less consistent with the email/facebook think during the past few weeks. Managed to get the kids off and running for their first few days of first grade last week. I assume yours have already started – it seems as though TX schools start earlier than we do around here. So far, I’ve learned that first grade has “lots more rules” and “lots less recess” than Kindergarten. It’s kicking their little tails already!
Don’t take this the wrong way, but when I checked your blog my first thought was “My gosh, she’s almost halfway there!” I mean, I’m sure it seems as thought you might as well have 1,000 chemo cycles left, and I know each one is worse than the last. But I’m so proud of you for getting through five cycles with such strength, grace and humor. I’ve had a stupid sinus infection for the last two weeks and every time I felt myself wanting to roll out of bed in my pajamas and pretty much stay that way all day I thought about you, and how in the midst of the torture you’re going through you’ve still managed to be Mom, friend, wife and all of the other hats we all wear, and I’d haul my carcass off to the shower, get dressed and go make yet another breakfast.
So I will continue to keep you, Greg and the kids in my prayers, in the hope that your strength will sustain you through the home stretch!
Love from L.A.
Alison
