About me…

I am a 43 year old woman who was diagnosed with Stage III bilateral breast cancer in April 2009. I had a double mastectomy (currently undergoing reconstruction) and am in the throes of 15 months of chemotherapy and targeted therapy. After that treatment, I will have approximately 10 years of hormone therapy to further reduce any chance of recurrence. I am married to a wonderful man named Greg and mother to 7 year old Sara and almost-5 year old Daniel. I am using this blog to chronicle my journey through all aspects of my dealings with breast cancer: good, bad and the ugly. For those who know me, you can expect an honest recounting of my days and nights, hopefully filled with my irreverent approach to the shocking diagnosis and unpleasant treatments. While there is much to dislike and fear in my world these days, there is more to find funny, heartwarming and encouraging.
